FAQ

Web development FAQ: working with Lionea

The 19 questions worth asking before we work together. In short: a fixed price set before work starts, a demo every two weeks, the code and access handed over at delivery, the first month of maintenance free with a 6-month plan, remote work in English or French, and AI tools that don't learn from your data.

Price and quotes

How much, how it works, and what can change.

How much does a project cost?

It depends on what needs to be built, which is why the first call is free. After that call, I prepare a free mockup of your tool. At the end of the demo, you receive a fixed-price quote, itemized line by line. That price does not move without your written approval.

Why are there no prices on the website?

Because a five-page marketing website and an app with a customer portal have nothing in common. Showing a wide price range would not help you decide. The fixed-price quote arrives at the end of the demo of your mockup, and it is free, like the mockup. For sourced market benchmarks on websites (French market), read how much a business website costs in 2026.

Is the 30-minute call really free?

Yes, with no commitment. You leave with an honest opinion on your project and a written summary, even if you don't go ahead.

What happens if I want to add something during the project?

That's possible. I tell you what the addition changes in price and timeline, and I only build it after your written approval. Nothing is added to the invoice without your sign-off.

Timelines

Typical ranges, always indicative.

How long does a project take?

Usually, a simple automation takes one to two weeks, a marketing website three to five weeks, and an app or custom software several two-week sprints. The exact schedule is in the quote.

When will I see the first results?

At the end of the first two-week sprint, you receive a working demo. After that, a new demo arrives every two weeks until delivery.

How quickly do you reply?

Within one business day for a meeting request or a message. The fixed-price quote arrives at the end of the demo of your free mockup, during the second meeting.

Do you work remotely and in English?

Yes. I work remotely, in English or French, with teams in different time zones. Most of the project happens in writing on one channel we choose together, with a working demo every two weeks.

Technical and ownership

The code, the access, and what happens if you switch providers.

Who owns the code?

You do. The code is yours once the invoice is paid: source code, access, files and documentation. In most cases I also keep an access to make maintenance easier. If you'd rather I didn't, just tell me. The transfer conditions are set out in the quote and the terms and conditions.

Will I depend on you?

No. The code, the accounts and the documentation are handed over at delivery. You can keep improving the tool with me, with another provider or in-house.

I'm not comfortable with technical topics. Is that a problem?

It's actually the most common case. You describe your business in your own words, I handle the technical side, and I train you on how to use the tool at the end.

Can you take over an existing tool?

Often, yes. I first look at what exists during the audit, and I tell you whether it's better to improve it or start from scratch, with the reasons for that choice.

AI and data

Where your data goes, and when AI makes sense.

Is my data safe with AI?

I choose tools that don't use your data to train their models, I limit access to what is strictly needed, and I explain where each piece of data is stored. Sensitive cases are still validated by a human.

Do I really need AI?

Not always. Many repetitive tasks can be handled with a classic automation, without AI. If an AI agent adds nothing in your case, I tell you during the audit.

Can an AI agent make mistakes?

Yes, which is why I build in safeguards: limited access, answers grounded in your own documents, and human validation for sensitive cases, such as a refund or a reply that commits the company.

After delivery

Bugs, maintenance and new features.

What happens after delivery?

First month of maintenance free with a 6-month plan. Maintenance runs as a 6-month monthly plan, extendable if needed, and the first month is free. During the plan, every defect found, one or several, is fixed. At the end of the 6 months, you decide whether to extend it.

Is maintenance mandatory?

No. It is offered, never imposed. It covers monitoring the tool, running updates and fixing what breaks when an external service changes.

How much do the tools cost each month?

Some services (hosting, automation platform, AI) have a subscription paid to their own vendor. I list them with their estimated cost in the quote, in your name, and I pick the plans that match your real volume.

Can I add features to the tool later?

Yes. Each change gets a small fixed-price quote, like the original project. You can also give it to someone else, since you have the code and the documentation.
